Blue Coat Acquired By Bain In $2.4 Billion Deal
Sunnyvale-based enterprise security hardware developer Blue Coat Systems has agreed to be acquired by private equity investor Bain Capital, in a $2.4M deal. Bain Capital is acquiring Blue Coat Systems from private equity investor Thoma Bravo, in an all-cash deal. Blue Coat said the move is part of a move for the company to return to public markets. Blue Coat is led by Gregory S. Clark. Blue Coat was advised by Goldman, Sachs & Co. and Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati in the deal; Bain was advised by Jeffries LLC, Ropes & Gray LLP, and PwC LLP.
