Funding Circle Scores $150M To Expand In US
Funding Circle, an online lending startup which has its U.S. operations based in San Francisco, said this week that it has raised $150M in funding, to help in its U.S. expansion plans. The company also announced Salesforce veteran Chitra Nayak to head up the company's efforts in San Francisco. Funding Circle said the funding was led by DST Global, and also included Baillie Gifford, a fund managed by BlackRock, Sands Capital Ventures and Temasek. Funding Circle makes loans to small businesses, which the company says banks have "left behind." More information »
