Yahoo Nixes Alibaba Spinoff Plans

Sunnyvale-based Yahoo! said Wednesday that it is abandoning its plans to spin off its stake in Alibaba, and will instead look at "alternative transactoin structures" to separate the Alibaba stake from the company. Yahoo said it is looking to complete a "revese spin off", where Yahoo's assets and liabilities other than the Alibaba stake would be transferred to a newly formed company.
