Sproutling Acquired By Mattel
San Francisco-based Sproutling, the maker of a wearable baby sensor that let parents keep track of whether a baby was awake or asleep, happy or fussy, and other details on a baby using their smartphone, has been acquired by toy maker Mattel. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Spourtling's smart baby monitors attached to a baby's ankle, and provided information to parents on their smartphone. Mattel also announced it had acquired the maker of the Nabi children's tablet, Fuhu, at the same time. Sproutling had been backed up on orders for its baby monitor wearable.
