Xamarin Acquired By Microsoft

San Francisco-based Xamarin, a mobile app development software developer, has been acquired by Microsoft, the company said Wednesday afternoon. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Xamarin develops native mobile development tools for C# developers, allowing them to develops native iOS, Android, and Mac applications. The company was venture backed by Charles River Ventures, Floodgate, Ignition Partners, and Lead Edge Capital.
