eero Finds $50M For Mesh Wi-fi For The Home
San Francisco-based eero, a startup developing mesh network-based home Wi-fi systems, has raised $50M in a growth funding round, the company said today. The funding was led by Menlo Ventures, and also included Index Ventures, plus First Round Capital, Shasta Ventures, Redpoint Ventures, Playground Global, and others. eero develops multiple, mesh-networked access points to distribute Wi-Fi throughout a home, rather than relying on a single Wi-fi rounter. The startup is led by Nick Weaver. Menlo's Mark Siegel joins the company's board as part of the funding. The company said three of its devices typically cover a single home.
