Lightbend Raises $20M
San Francisco-based Lightbend, a developer of software for building low latency, enterprise applications on top of Java, has raised $20M in a Series C funding. The funding was led by Intel Capital, and also included Blue Cloud Ventures, Bain Capital Ventures, Polytech Ecosystem Ventures and Shasta Ventures. Vibhor Rastogi, Director for Enterprise Software at Intel Capital, will join the company's board as part of the funding. Lightbend is led by Mark Brewer; the company says its customers include Walmart, Verizon, iHeartRadio, William Hill, and Samsung. Lightbend was previously known as Typesafe.
