Google Acquires Moodstocks For Mobile Image Recognition

Mountain View-based Google has acquired French startup Moodstocks, which develops mobile image recognition software, Moodstocks announced this morning. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Moodstocks, which has been working on on-device, image recognition software since 2012, said it will shut down access to its tools and will instead be working on image recognition tools within Google. The company said it will continue to offer up its image recognition software to current, paying Moodstocks customers until the end of their subscription.
