Aromyx Aims At $3.6M Funding Via Crowdfunding Site
Palo Alto-based Aromyx is raising $3.6M in funding, via the Propel(X) angel and crowdfunding site, the companies said on Wednesday. The two companies did not say how much has been raised by Aromyx so far in the effort. Aromyx previously has raised funding from Oriza Ventures, Eric Di Benedetto, the Stanford-StartX Fund, Rationalwave Capital, John ("Launny") Steffens of Spring Mountain Capital, and TEEC Angel Fund. Aromyx is developing technology used to quantify the human sense of taste and scent. The company is a spinout of the Stanford StartX accelerator and Plug and Play Ventures Materials program, and was founded by Chris Hanson.
