Dedrone Gets $15M For Drone Detection Systems
San Francisco-based Dedrone, a developer of software and hardware to detect unauthorized drones and drone threats, has raised $15M in a Series B funding. The funding came from Felicis Ventures and Cisco's John Chambers, along with Menlo Ventures. Dedrone's software and hardware identifies drones, based on their radio frequency (RF) signature, reporting on the model and how they are controlled; the company is looking to provide its technology to the government, utilities, airports, and others to detect threats from airborne drones. The company's CEO is Jorg Lamprecht.
