Okta Hires Stormpath's Founders, Licenses Technology

San Francisco-based Okta, which develops enterprise identity management software, has hired away the founders of San Mateo-based Stormpath, and licensed Stormpath's technology, according to the companies. Stormpath develops user authentication and identity management software, and was founded by Alex Salazar and Les Hazlewood. Financial deatils of the deal were not announced. Salazar and Hazlewood join Okta as part of the acquisition. A spokesperson for Okta said that Okta acquired the talent and a non-exclusive license to Stormpath's technology, however, Stormpath Inc. retains ownership of the technology.
