Google Launches New Venture Fund, Gradient Ventures
Google announced on Tuesday afternoon that it has created a brand new, venture capital fund, called Gradient Ventures, which it says will invest in early-stage startups focused on artificial intelligence. Google said the fund will provide companies with capital, resources, and dedicated access to experts and bootcamps in AI, taking a minority stake in those startups. Google did not say how big the new fund will be, but did say that it has so far invested in at least two companies, Algorithmia, and Cogniac.
