SunPower Gets $140M For Solar Project Funding

San Jose-based solar power installer SunPower has roped in a big $140M funding commitment for more U.S commercial solar projects, the company said this morning. SunPower said the funding comes via a collaboration with True Green Capital Management LLC (TGC), which has created a $140M fund to finance approximately 50 megawatts of SunPower solar energy systems. The projects will be in California, Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and Washington, D.C. SunPower said the three year agreement has the company delivering solar electric power projects for commercial and public sector customers, all of which will be acquired by TGC.
