Splunk Acquires Rocana

San Francisco-based Splunk announced this morning that it has acquired select assets of Rocana, a developer of analytics software for the IT market. Financial terms of the cash acquisition were not announced. According to Splunk, it acquired the technology and intellectual property assets of Rocana, and also will hire "a number" of Rocana's technical employees in the buy, which was funded from its balance sheet. Rocana had developed analytics software focused on machine-to-machine data. Rocana was venture backed by General Catalyst Partners.
