Cisco Acquires BroadSoft For $1.9 Billion

San Jose-based Cisco said this morning that it has acquired Maryland-based BroadSoft, in a deal worth $1.9 billion. According to Cisco, it will pay $55 per share in cash for publicly held BroadSoft. BroadSoft is a developer of cloud calling and contact center software. BroadSoft becomes part of Cisco's Applications Business Group.
