Silver Spring Networks, Itron Deal Approved By Shareholders

San Jose-based Silver Spring Networks said late Wednesday that its deal to acquire smart meter maker Itron was approved by its shareholders, and it now expects the deal to close on or around today. Silver Spring Networks and Itron said in September that Silver Spring will pay $830M for Itron. Itron is based in Liberty Lake, Washington, and makes connected utility meters.
