Katerra Picks Up Giant, $865M Funding Round
Menlo Park-based Katerra, a developer of technology and integrated services used to streamline construction projects, has raised an astounding $865M funding round, led by SoftBank Vision Fund. Katerra said new investors in the round included the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB), a private investment fund managed by Soros Fund Management LLC, Tavistock Group, Navitas Capital, DivcoWest, and others. SoftBank's Jeffrey Housenbold joins the company's board as part of the funding. The company's platform includes both technology and services, spanning everything from services like architecture, interior design, engineering, material supply, manufacturing, and construction, to just-in-time material and product ordering, manufacturing, tracking, and delivery, and much more.
