Gate Labs Lands $5M For Smart Lock Startup

San Francisco-based Gate Labs, which develops a camera-equipped, smart lock system designed to allow delivery people into your home to drop off packages, has raised $5M in a Series B funding round. The funding was led by Cota Capital. As part of the funding, the company said it has named Engle Saez as its CEO. Cota Capital's investment was led by Bobby Yazdani. Saez was previously COO at Gate Labs, and also had been President and Chief Digital officer of Ashford.com, in addition to serving as an exec at Starbucks, Blue Nile, and Eddie Bauer.
