Rescale Rounds Up $32M For High Performance Computing In Cloud

San Francisco-based Rescale, a provider of cloud-based high performance computing (HPC) resources, has raised $32M in a Series B funding. The funding was led by Initialized Capital, Keen Venture Partners and SineWave Ventures, and also included Sam Altman, Jeff Bezos, Richard Branson, Chris Dixon, Paul Graham, Ken Hao, Adam Smith, Peter Thiel, Steve Westly, Data Collective, ITV Ventures, Jump Capital, M12 (formerly Microsoft Ventures), Mitsubishi UFJ Capital, Quiet Capital, Streamlined Ventures, Translink Capital, Two Roads Group and Y Combinator. Rescale said the investor group includes more than 30 existing investors. Rescale has now raised $52M in total. Joris Poort is co-founder and CEO of Rescale. The company's services are used by companies to complement existing, on-premise HPC deployments.
