Carrot Digs Up $25M To Help People Quit Smoking
Redwood City-based Carrot, a developer of digital health software, announced on Monday that it has raised $25M in a funding round. The funding was led by Johnson & Johnson Innovation, and also included New York Life Ventures, Khosla Ventures, Marc Benioff, and R7 Partners. Carrot develops a smoking cessation progrma it calls "Pivot". The company was founded by CEO David S. Utley, M.D. Carrot said it uses a FDA-cleared carbon monoxide breath sensor, smartphone app, in-app coaching, pharmacotherapy, and community features to help people quit smoking.
