8x8 Acquires Hosted PBX Customers

Santa Clara-based 8x8 Inc., a provider of business, mobile, and residential communications services, said today that it has acquired hosted PBX and unified messaging subscribers from Minneapolis-based Avtex LLC. According to 8x8, the deal includes approximately 1,500 companies using Avtex's iTELConnect hosted PBX service. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. 8x8 said it will provide hosted PBX service, equipment, activation, and discounting on its services to customers being transitioned from Avtex. 8x8 will also work with Avtex partners and resellers to support their current customers and sign up new ones.
