eBay Acquires Hunch

San Jose-based eBay said this morning that it has acquired Hunch, the user recommendations startup co-founded by Chris Dixon, Tom Pinckney and Matt Gattis, and based in New York. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed, however, several reports pinned the buy at around $80M. Hunch was venture backed by Bessemer Venture Partners, General Catalyst Partners, and Khosla Ventures. The firm's products helped recommend products, web sites, and services to users, based on their preferences and social graph.
