Google Buys BumpTop

Mountain View-based Google has acquired BumpTop, a Canadian developer of 3D desktop software, according to BumpTop. According to BumpTop, as part of the buy, its products for the Windows and Mac will be pulled off the market, and it does not plan any additional updates to its products. The firm did not say what it intends to do with its technology, but that it will allow users to download its current free product for the next week.
