Intel Buys Vertex.AI

Intel said on Thursday that it has acquired Vertex.AI, which develops the open source PlaidML machine learning software. Financial terms of the acquisition were not announced. Vertex.AI said it has become part of Intel's Artificial Intelligence Group, and that Intel plans to continue development of PlaidML as an open source project. PlaidML's software allows for deployment of machine learning software across a variety of platforms. Vertex.AI was based in Seattle, Washington.
