ProactiveNet Acquired By BMC
Enterprise management software developer BMC Software revealed Tuesday that it has agreed to acquire privately held ProactiveNet, a developer of "early warning" IT software. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed. Santa Clara-based ProactiveNet has raised over $50M in venture capital funding from Dawntreader Ventures, Crosspoint Venture Partners, Sevin Rosen Funds and Oak Investment Partners. The firm also counts Sun Microsystems and Nissho Electronics as backers. BMC said the addition of ProactiveNet will enable the company to deliver software that aligns IT services with business priorities.
