RSA Buys Tablus

Security software firm RSA said today that it has acquired San Mateo-absed Tablus, a provider of data loss prevention software. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. RSA, a unit of EMC, said that the solution will add data discovery and classification, monitoring, and data loss prevention capabilities to its portfolio. Tablus is venture backed by Menlo Ventures and Trident Capital, and most recently received a $16M Series B funding in October of last year.
