Skype Acquires GroupMe

Skype announced this morning that it is in a deal to acquire Groupme, a provider of mobile group messaging services. Financial terms of the deal were not announced. GroupMe was based in New York, and founded in 2010. Skype said the buy will complement its voice and video communications services.
