BitTorrent, CacheLogic Partner On Caching

San Francisco-based BitTorrent, developer of the BitTorrent peer-to-peer file distribution protocol, and CacheLogic, a provider of Internet caching products, said today that the companies have entered into a strategic partnership to develop an open-source, cache discovery protocol for ISPs. The new protocol looks to address the load that BitTorrent traffic has on internet service providers. CacheLogic and BitTorrent said the new protocol will allow BitTorrent's client software to automatically discover and take advantage of caching devices within an ISP's network. CacheLogic is a provider of caching devices for ISPs.
