Eicon Buys Intel's Media and Signaling Business

Eicon Networks has agreed to purchase Intel's media and signaling business, the two companies said yesterday. Financial terms were not disclosed. Intel said that the sale will enable it to focus its investments on its core communications and embedded businesses. Intel's media and signaling businesses includes Host Media Processing software, blades, along with SS7, PBX, and gateway solutions. The purchase is being funded by Investcorp Technology Ventures and Tennenbaum Capital Partners, who have provided equity and credit to Eicon for the purchase.
