Global IP Sound Ties Into Skype
San Francisco-based Global IP Sound has inked a new relationship with Skype, saying today that it will allow hardware manufacturers to offer Skype-compatible IP phones. Global IP Sound develops embedded voice processing technologies, which Skype uses for improviding sound quality of its calls. GIPS has been licensing Skype its technology since the 2003. Global IP sound's speech processing technology is used by VoIP application developers, gateway, and chip manufacturers.
