NETGEAR To Acquire Infrant

Santa Clara-based NETGEAR said Thursday that it is in a definitive agreement to acquire Fremont-based Infrant Technologies, in a deal worth $60M in cash. The deal also calls for earnout of up to $20M in cash over the next three years, based on specific revenue targets. Infrant is a manufacturer of network attached storage (NAS) products based on the Linux operating system. The deal is expected to close in the second quarter. Infrant has 34 employees, who will be joining NETGEAR as part of the transaction.
