NETGEAR Completes CP Secure Buy
San Jose-based NETGEAR announced this morning that it has completed its acquisition of CP Secure, a developer of network security products. NETGEAR had announced the asset acquisition in September, saying it would pay up to $17.5M for the firm. CP Secure's products are used to filter web and email-based malware. NETGEAR said CP Secure's software will be incorporated into a new line of products under the brand ProSecure, which will be focused on protecting network, web access, and email traffic. NETGEAR said it has hired on CP Secure's 46 person engineering team into its organization; those engineers will be working for SHuang Ji, former CEO of CP Secure, and now VP of Engineering for NETGEAR's security products.
