Portola Pharmaceuticals Gets $70M In Series C

South San Francisco-based Portola Pharmaceuticals has raised $70M in a Series C funding, the firm said Monday. The round included new investors Brookside Capital, AllianceBernstein LP, Teachers' Private Capital, Goldman Sachs, T. Rowe Price, IBTM and CIDC. Prior investors Abingworth, Alta Partners, Advanced Technology Ventures, Frazier Healthcare, MPM Capital, Prospect Ventures and Sutter Hill Ventures also participated. Portola is developing two candidates focused on treatment for actue and chronic cardiovascular and vascular disease. More information »
