ooma Starts Taking Orders For Yet-To-Released Product

Palo Alto-based ooma, the VoIP startup which is developing a hardware device which plugs into a broadband connection to offer voice-over-IP telephone service, said today that it has started to takes pre-orders for the company's hardware. The firm said that it is planning release of its products in September, but will take pre-sales from consumers who are interested in receiving a system. Ooma is venture backed by Draper Fisher Jurvetson and Worldview Technology Partners.
