Elastra Raises $2.5M
San Francisco-based Elastra has raised $2.5M in a Series A funding from Hummer Winblad Venture Partners, the company has announced. Elastra is developing relational database technology based on Amazon's Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) services and Amazon's related Simple Storage Service (S3). Elastra said the funding will go to finance its operations, including development, product management, and sales. John Hummer joins the firm as part of the funding. Elastra is headed by Kirill Sheynkman, who co-founded Stanford Technology Group and Plumtree Software. More information »
