The company said in its blog that the new platform is available for anyone interested in developing an application for the service. meebo is venture backed by Sequoia Capital and Draper Fisher Jurvetson. Companies have been rushing to open up their application programming interfaces (APIs), since the sudden popularity of Facebook's API platform program.
