Meebo Takes On IM For Online Communities

Mountain View-based Meebo said today that it has launched a new product initiative focused on online communities. According to the firm, which provides instant messaging services, it will integrate its IM services into social media, gaming, and blog web sites. Meebo is venture backed by JAFCO Ventures, Time Warner Investments, KTB Ventures, and existing investors Sequoia Capital and Draper Fisher Jurvetson (DFJ).
