eBay's Whitman Steps Down

San Jose-based eBay said Wednesday afternoon that Meg Whitman will step down from her position as President and CEO of the firm on March 31st. Whitman will remain on the company's board of directors. According to eBay, John Donahoe will be appointed President and CEO. Donahoe was most recently President of eBay Marketplaces. According to eBay, Rajiv Dutta, who is currently President of PayPal, will replace Donahoe as President of eBay marketplaces and also will be named Executive Vice President, among a series of related executive moves. Whitman has been at eBay since March of 1998.
