Trimble Buys Geo-3D

Sunnyvale-based Trimble said today that it has acquired Geo-3D, a Montreal, Canada-based developer of mobile mapping systems. Geo-3D's systems are used for mapping roadside infrastructure, including road signs, guardrails, light poles, and other assets. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Geo-3D's systems are used by service companies, state authorities, and municipalities. Trimble said the staff of Geo-3D will become part of its Engineering and Construction segment.
