Equinix Acquires Virtu Secure Webservices

Foster City-based Equinix, a provider of data centers and Internet exchange services, said today that it will pay $48M for Virtu Secure Webservices B.V., a data center provider in the Netherlands. Equinix said that the acquisition will give it data center operations in Enschede and Zwolle, and eventually Amsterdam. Virtu was founded in 1999. Equinix said the $48M also includes anticipated capital expenditures for build-out of Virtu's Amsterdam site.
