Teranetics Gets $25M For 10GBASE-T Chips
Santa Clara-based Teranetics said this morning that the firm has added another $25M in financing for the firm's high performance, 10GBASE-T Ethernet PHY. The funding came from strategic partner LSI Corporation, along with all of the firm's existing investors. According to Teranetics, the new funding will be used to fund the company's growth. Teranetics has developed a single-chip, PHY used for implementing 10GBASE-T Ethernet, which is the standard being used for 10G Ethernet over copper. PHY chips provide the physical layer of the Ethernet stack, which implement low level protocols and signaling. Teranetics has previously received funding from Columbia Capital, Global Catalyst Partners, Granite Global Ventures, Hook Partners, Portview Communications, US Venture Partners, and Venrock Associates.
