Flickr Breaks Contact Updates

Flickr, the online photo sharing site of Yahoo Corp., has been seeing extensive downtime in a major feature of the site. The downtime, which started Wednesday afternoon, affects updates provided by the site to contacts, a major feature of the site's social networking and photo sharing aspects. According to a message posted by the Flickr team, the site has taken recent contact photos updates offline, and expects the service to be down for no longer than 48 hours. Flickr's contact feature allows users of flickr to see the latest photos uploaded by their contacts.
