Danger Becomes Part Of Microsoft

Redmond, Washington-based Microsoft said Tuesday that it has completed its acquisition of Palo Alto-based Danger. Danger, which develops software for the Sidekick mobile device, will become part of Microsoft's Premium Mobile Experiences Group. Microsoft said the group will continue to run from its existing offices. Danger's founders, Matt Hershenson and Joe Britt, are joining Microsoft as part of the acquisition. Financial terms of the acquisition have not been disclosed. Danger was venture backed by Mobius Venture Capital, Redpoint Ventures, SoftBank Capital, T-Mobile, Motorola, Sharp, VSP Capital, Meritech Capital Partners, Institutional Venture Partners, Adams Street Partners, Diamondhead Ventures, and Orange Ventures.
