Phoenix Technologies Buys Embedded Software Firm
Milpitas-based phoenix Technologies said today that it is in a definitive agreement to acquire General Softare, a provider of embedded firmware. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. General Software is headquartered in Bellevue, Washington, and provides BIOS andfirmware code base for embedded devices. The firm's BIOS is used in network routers, medical devices, PCs, and other electronic products. The deal is expected to close in the current quarter.
