ooma Expands Retail Reach
Palo Alto-based ooma, which develops a hardware platform designed to give users free home phone service via broadband connections, announced Monday that the firm's home phone system will be offered at a number of consumer electronics firms over the holidays. According to the firm, its products will be offered at Best Buy, Datavision, Fry's Electronics, Micro Center and J&R, in addition to being offered on online stores. ooma develops a hardware device which uses broadband connections to support phone service. The company is backed by Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Draper Richards, Founders Fund, Telecommunication Development Fund, WI Harper Group, and Worldview Technology Partners.
