Joost Abandons P2P
Joost, the Internet video distribution firm co-founded by Janus Friis and Niklas Zennstrom, the developers of Skype, is abandoning its peer-to-peer software application, telling its users today that it will discontinue its original Joost software as of this Friday. The move comes shortly after the firm added video viewing to its Joost.com web site in October. Joost is venture backed by CBS, Index Ventures, Sequoia Capital, and Viacom.
