Seagate Names Luczo President, CEO

Scotts Valley-based disk drive maker Seagate Technology said today that it has appointed Stephen J. Luczo, the firm's Chairman, as President and CEO. Luczo replaces current CEO William Watkins. Seagate said that Luczo and Watkins will be discussing "what role, if any" Watkins will have with the firm going forward. No reason for the executive shuffling was given. Luczo has been at Seagate since 1993, and served as CEO between July 1998 and July 2004, and has been Chairman since 2002. Luczo will continue as Chairman.
