VUDU Chops Player Pricing
Santa Clara-based VUDU has chopped the price of its Internet-enabled movie player to $149, the firm said today--halving the retail pricing. According to the firm, the move is a result of "lower component prices and higher movie revenues." The firm is also reducing its home thater product and its wireless kit. The firm said that its VUDU XL, which is installed through professional custom installers, has been reduced to $499, and the wireless kit is now $79. VUDU's products are sold through Best Buy and other audio video retailers, as well as online.
