SpringSoft Agrees to Acquire Certess

Integrated circuit design software publisher SpringSoft Inc. announced Sunday that it has agreed to acquire all outstanding shares of Certess Inc., makers of the Certitude Functional Qualification design automation application. The financial terms of the transaction, which is pending shareholder and regulatory approval, were not disclosed. Headquartered in Campbell, Calif., Certess employs 20 people, most of them in the United States and at its research and development facility in France. SpringSoft said it will retain the R&D operation and that Certess will become a wholly owned subsidiary of SpringSoft USA Inc. Based Hsinchu, Taiwan, and San Jose, SpringSoft merged with four companies last year, including Novas Software Inc.
