Trimble Buys CAD Software Firm

Sunnyvale-based Trimble said Thursday that it has acquired QuickPen International, a privately held provider of software for the building information modeling market. Financial terms were not disclosed. QuickPen develops products used to model heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), mechanical construction and plumbing in building projects. Trimble said that QuickPen will become part of its Engineering and Construction segment.
